There are more than 200,000 University of Maryland alumni living around the globe. The Robert H. Smith School of Business alone boasts nearly 42,000 alumni living in China and 72 other countries. This is a robust, growing group of professionals that provides a global networking base benefiting all members of the Smith community.

The Smith School of Business Alumni Chapter, an affiliate of the University of Maryland Alumni Association, established its first international alumni chapter in China in 2004. The chapter already has more than 100 active members. All Smith School alumni receive Smith Business magazine, a four-color, glossy magazine published twice per year. Alumni also receive Smith Newslink, an informative e-newsletter published monthly. Smith School's First Shanghai Executive MBA Class Graduates on April 15, 2007

Caps on, gowns pressed, the business executives graduating  with MBA degrees from the University of Maryland's prestigious Robert H. Smith School of Business on April 15 are well armed for success within the fast-moving global, digital economy. They are further distinguished as members of the first Shanghai Executive MBA (EMBA) class to graduate from the Smith School, which is ranked among the world's top business schools.

"I have no doubt that we will continue to hear great things about this group of graduates, particularly as China continues to rise as a major global, economic power," said Howard Frank, dean of the University of Maryland's Robert H. Smith School of Business. "It's with great pleasure that I congratulate these executives on their accomplishment and welcome them to the Smith School's global alumni community."
