This program examines the strategic role that the operations function plays, and offers tools and techniques that the firm can use for strategy execution. It covers concepts of operations management applied to both manufacturing and services,, which can be divided into two broad areas. The first area includes operations strategy, and process analysis and design - and offers an analysis of process flows and bottlenecks, waiting line models, total quality management and Six-Sigma. The second area is supply chain management, which includes forecasting, lean operations and JIT, revenue management, and advanced topics in inventory management.
- Leadership and Human Capital Jan. 10-13, 2008 (Shanghai)
This course serves as an introduction to selected aspects of human behavior in organizations. In this course, we emphasize leadership, motivation, teams, creativity, human resource management, decision making and problem solving, conflict management, and power and politics. Many of the concepts deal with social interaction and interpersonal behavior. Typically, we take the view of the manager, and how the manager influences others through leadership and teamwork. Most of the issues deal with leading and managing people in organizations.

R&D is the key to a company's success in the dynamic age. This course is designed specially for R&D heads of multi-national companies. The objective of this course is to expose students to a variety of strategic and operational issues that arise when managing in the presence of technological innovation, and to provide frameworks and analytical techniques to approach these issues. We cover the formulation of innovation strategies, corporate R&D, technology diffusion, the process of developing new products and services, and productivity assessment in manufacturing and services.
- Project Management in a Dynamic Environment Feb. 21-24, 2008 (Shanghai)
This program is designed for managers interested in developing their project management skills. The course reviews the fundamental concepts for managing organizational projects. Both technical and managerial issues are covered.
- International Marketing Mar. 20-23, 2008 (Shanghai)
This program focuses on environmental, organizational and financial aspects of international marketing as well as challenges companies faces in marketing research, pricing, channels of distribution, product policy and communications. As an advanced marketing course, this program requires solid work experience or an undergraduate degree in marketing.
- Implementing Strategy Apr. 17-20, 2008 (Shanghai)
This program helps participants understand the challenges of converting strategic intentions into reality. Participants study and discuss common organizational challenges faced when implementing major strategic initiatives such as launching a new product line; entering a new geographic market; or restructuring an industry by merging with, or acquiring, a competitor.
