Enrollment for each Open Enrollment Executive Education Program is limited to ensure an optimum leaning experience and registration is accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
Programs are rigorous, matching the intensity and demands of Smith's Executive MBA program. As a result, participants must be prepared to engage fully in courses, including a commitment of approximately 20 hours before and after each four-day class, with assignments and materials forwarded three to four weeks in advance. Advance preparation includes a deliverable such as a case, paper or exam that will be graded, and that will directly impact the award of the final program certification.
Requirements Admission is competitive and selective. Participants must meet many of the basic requirements of the Smith School's Executive MBA program. Requirements include:
- Demonstration of verbal and written English language proficiency of a level that supports participation in an exclusively English-speaking, intensive learning environment.
- A four-year bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in the United States, or the equivalent of a United States'four-year bachelor's degree in another country.
- Proof of required pre-requisites for select programs*
Applications Participants may either apply online or fill in an application form. The application form must be received by fax, e-mail, or mail at least two weeks prior to program commencement. Applications will be processed within one working day and each applicant will be notified by a letter of confirmation.
Payment Requirement The tuition fee covers program materials and services, stationery and tea breaks. Tuition must be paid in full in U.S. dollars or RMB two weeks prior to program commencement.
Certificate Participants who successfully complete the program will be awarded a certificate of completion from the Robert H. Smith School of Business. Failure to complete required assignments can result in the withholding of certification. Smith's Open Enrollment Executive Education Programs do not qualify participants to earn academic credit or hours that can be applied toward a university program or degree.
* Some courses require participants to have previously completed academic work in a specific area. For example, accounting knowledge is required for the Financial Management course.
All applicants are required to submit an application and participate in a qualifying admissions interview.
